Creativity workshop — this weekend
I'll show you how to connect creativity to exam pieces, online or in-person!
This Sunday 13th April, I’m delivering a workshop at the Piano Teacher’s Course.
The Mozart Method
Using the example of the young Wolfgang Amadeus, I’ll show you how to use exam pieces as a springboard for creativity.
This process deepens your students’ theory knowledge and increases their engagement — it’s also really fun!
We’ll be using pieces from the current ABRSM, Trinity and MTB Grade 1 syllabuses to get started, but the Mozart Method can be used for any piece.
Paul Harris
The eminent author and pedagogue will also be there, delivering workshops on Unconditional Teaching and Everyone CAN Sight Read!

Regardless of where you are, you can join us.
I hope to see you there!

Unconditional Teaching
Paul Harris’ ground-breaking and inspirational new approach encourages teachers to explore and transform how they teach. Paul identifies and reimagines the barriers or ‘conditions’ that can stand in the way of effective teaching, to allow for the most immersive and positive learning experience. Ideas are tackled from both a practical and psychological perspective, rooted in Paul’s renowned Simultaneous Learning methodology. For teachers of all disciplines and learners of all ages, this seminal talk will begin your journey towards an unbounded, unconditional way of teaching.
Everyone CAN Sight Read!
Do you believe that some people can sight-read and others just can’t?
In this talk, Paul will dispel this and other common misconceptions about sight-reading, presenting instead the idea of sight-reading as a technique that can be developed and learned by anyone. He breaks down the fascinating science behind sight-reading as well as providing practical advice and exercises that can be incorporated into both lessons and practice. This session will challenge existing perspectives on sight-reading and presents an innovative new approach to teaching and learning this vital musical skill.
